One of the things we love about Big Bear Lake is the generosity of the locals. Maybe it’s the altitude, or it could be the blue skies and clean mountain air!
This week locals and friends will support two events; Denim and Diamonds for the Chamber of Commerce and the Big Bear Polar Plunge for the Inland Empire Special Olympics.
The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce serves as our valley’s business and economic center, offering classes and networking opportunities. They are actively involved with Caltrans, the County of San Bernardino and the City of Big Bear Lake. They assist with road conditions, events and education.
The other large event this weekend is the Big Bear Polar Plunge. This fundraiser is hosted by our Sheriff’s Department. As of today, they’ve raised $47,000 of their $50,000 goal. View this video to see the benefits provided by the Special Olympics. Last year they managed to raise $100,000!
Local teams include the First Mountain Bank, the MWD and the Sheriff’s Department. Two Inland Empire minor league baseball teams; the Inland Empire 66ers and Lake Elsinore Storm, will also participate. Swim Beach is located at Meadow Park is at 41220 Park Ave., Big Bear Lake.
