Mountain Bike Big Bear

Big Bear Sky Chair

Southern California’s Only Lift-Served Bike Park

The mountain biking season in Big Bear, CA is scheduled to begin soon. It’s a great day trip from the LA area, offering world class trails. Our Valley has a network of trails spanning 100 miles, accommodating all levels of experience.

Snow Summit is a great place to start your mountain biking adventure. They offer bike rentals, too. You’ll need to fill out an EZ Waiver, either online, or once you get on site.

Once your ride is secured, head over to the Sky Chair for a spectacular ride to the top. The Sky Chair restricts bikes to 45 lbs. At the top, you’ll be able to pick up refreshments and lunch at the View Haus.

Snow Summit worked with Gravity Logic (Whistler Mountain Bike Park) to build their adventure park, creating all new trails. Enjoy upper level features, banked turns and bridges. The Adventure Park caters to intermediate and advanced riders.

Try these trails from Snow Summit:

  • Skyline Ridge (use Sky Chair) is one of the most popular biking trails. It’s a collaborative project between the Forest Service and Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation. Get ready for 8.5 miles of stunning views.
  • Westridge is a blue trail for intermediate riders; and the most recent trail in the park.
  • The Grandview Loop is a 9 mile, intermediate trail ride from the top of Snow Summit. You’ll ride on 2N10 and enjoy views of Mount San Gorgonio to the south. Return along 2N08.

Don’t feel like you need to be a professional to ride the mountain. There are plenty of easy trails to enjoy. Come on up here and enjoy our beautiful mountain air. If you need a Big Bear Cabin, give us a call 1-800-381-5569 . We’re a family friendly resort just west of Big Bear Lake Village. We also offer private vacation home rentals.
