The San Bernardino National Forest includes eight designated wilderness areas. These areas offer numerous opportunities for hiking, backpacking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, fishing, and just getting away from it all. Note that recreation passes and permits, such as the Adventure Pass, are required to use some recreation sites and areas, and for some facilities and services.

In the summer months, Snow Summit becomes a premier lift-served bike park. It allows access to over 60 miles of cross-country trails and is suitable for riders of all ages and ability levels.
During the winter months, Bear Mountain is one of Southern California's most innovative ski resorts. It includes a state-of-the-art snowmaking system, and 748 acres available for skiing and snowboarding.
In the summer, the site opens a unique nine-hole golf course. The course features a driving range, a putting green, along with multiple events during the summer season.
The Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is California's only authentic bobsled ride. You take a scenic chairlift to the top and, then, slide down a 1/4 mile long track. The site is open year-round. In the summer, enjoy a cool water slid, and, in the winter, you can take advantage of the snwo tubing hill. The site also includes an 18-hole minature golf course and a go-kart track.
